Tax 6 DIY Wiper pads?

Hello!

My felt wiper pad is in desperate need of replacement. I was wondering if anyone has found good diy alternatives to the replacement kit?

You can buy wiper pads as spare parts mind you there tight enough i recommend pliers it is also worth noting you can use the bottom half of the wiper pads as a fresh wiper pads

Lulzbot has it covered. Their entire procedure for making the new-style pads is here.

But for myself, back when I was still using wipes (before going with BLTouch) I only used hardened steel (or stronger) nozzles, so I simply used appropriately sized cuts of red scrub pad for charcoal grills.

I found that, but looking at the sold product version, it doesn’t show the Taz 6 as a compatible printer so I was hesitant to follow that.

The felt pads for the Taz 6 are very dense as well and the pad used are a lot less dense.

Have you used the new ones on a Taz 6? I’m kinda trying to find a proof of concept so I don’t mess up the printer

I did use one in the 6. Less dense actually gives room for strings to embed in the pad instead of sitting on top and getting stuck back on the nozzle.

But the real solution? Spend $10 on a bltouch clone and use firmware to support it.

I will look into that! Thank you for the advice!
