Taz 6 & 1.75mm Filament

Forgive me if this has been asked before. I tried to search the forum and it wouldn’t let me. It told me the search words were too common? Haha!

Anyways, has anyone successfully printed 1.75 mm filament on the Taz 6? Only reason I ask is because my 4 other printers all use 1.75mm and I have a large stock of 1.75mm.

Thanks in advance!

It can be done, another option is to print a 1.75mm fillament body and idler arm. This one will fit the stock Taz 6 carriage. You will need a longer extruder mount bolt to use it, and they are difficult to source locally.

Any luck? with the swap. Is this just a matter of changing out the filament body or is a new hot end required? I see there is plenty of info out there for this conversion on the previous models. Is all that info still relevant on the 6?

thx, so does that mean that the hot end on the 5 and 6 are the same?

The 6 has two cooling fans and a different carriage but otherwise internally yes.
