I have an old Taz 6 that I just added a BL touch to… but when I upgraded the firmware to the Drunken octopus it no longer homes the X axis…it doesn’t/won’t move on the positive (right)direction… it tries.. meaning you can hear the motor start.. then nothing… it displays Endstop X on the screen… I am using the SE tool head in 2.85mm
I’m sure it’s trying to see the x min
endstop… but this tool head doesn’t have that.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
X min isn’t on the toolhead. It’s on the X axis gantry:
’
verify that the endstop switch is functioning with the M119 command. Send the command, note the x_min state, then manually hold that endstop switch circled down. Send the M119 command again and see if the endstop state is changing.
If it is, then with the machine off, slowly push the toolhead to the x_min position and listen for the click of the switch to see that the BLtouch mount isn’t interfering with the switch activation.
Wrathernaut,
Thanks for the quick reply and on Christmas!!!. I was mistaken it was not moving into the positive direction. I should have said the x max switch… which that tool head doesn’t have.
I uploaded the original lulzbot firmware and the x axis homes and moves both directions just fine…
Thank you again.
I wanted to update everyone… I had the wrong firmware loaded for the aerostruder tool head.. all is working fine now….
….. also the az was having an issue with moving in the X POSITIVE direction not the negative.. opps
