TAZ TK0

I fixed the permissions on those FreeCAD files, so you should be able to read them at the next sync.

For some more background, explanation of the servers:

http://download.lulzbot.com = Final versions of released products

http://devel.lulzbot.com = Development versions of products

So the TAZ started out as TK-0 in devel, but when TAZ was released it got pushed to download. Now that TAZ is out and we are doing further development of it, parts for batch 2 are on devel.

download.lulzbot.com doesn’t change much once a product is released. The devel.lulzbot.com is changing constantly, and files may disappear with no notice. Files on download will likely be a permanent part of the archive and “never” be deleted.

The devel server is identical to the shared development files we use internally. It is the shared directory on our LAN that the clients mount via sshfs. So when Seth or whomever pushes a new file, I get it from that directory, for example. Every 10 minutes, it gets rsync’d to the public at http://devel.lulzbot.com and rsync://rsync.lulzbot.com/devel/lulzbot/

Would it be too much to ask that some form of change log be generated such that hose of us that want to make updates know which are worth doing and which are not?

It will save a million questions I’m sure. Even if it’s just a running, updated list of items that you post in the TAZ forum section for worthwhile updates.

It’s kinda a beauty of these things, they can self heal if need be…

Just a thought and my .02,
Alan

We are working on a doing a change log, but so far as I know it is still on a todo list. Partly since there several of us have been making changes so we will have to collaborate on what has changed and partly since we have been focused on other things. I will try and start working on it later today, but if things get busy it might be only a list of parts that have changed and not what has changed about them.

I’m interested in purchasing one of these as well

Hello everyone! After searching around, I have decided to make my own Taz as well. I have read rsilver’s excellent build log, and have been learning a lot here. I have sourced most of the parts, but had a little trouble with the heat-set inserts. After some digging (thanks to many of the links earlier in this thread), I have tracked down the supplier. They are made by Dodge fastener company, and the part number is 6075-3BR038. As others have pointed out, McMaster sells the 100-packs, but DB Roberts will deliver them in single quantities. It took me a while to find this, so hopefully someone else finds it helpful.

The DB Robers search function is pretty weak, so here is a link to the item page: https://estore.dbroberts.com/partdetail.asp?pn=6075%2D3BR038&sp=DODGE&ac=60753BR038&pd=ULTRASERT+II+-+METRIC&cl=&dp=DOD6075-3BR038

Very nice find!

Thanks!

Hello again,

Hope everyones’ builds are going great!

I see that Lulzbot is selling plates now for $35. If anyone wants to save a little money, you can get mine for $25. I have three left and they aren’t helping anyone by sitting around the house!

Some users have encountered flaking or delamination when removing parts when printing on bare glass. We recommend printing with either the stock PET surface, or with the new PEI print surface that some of our more advanced users are using with great success.

Thanks!

Hey Couby,

You could try this supplier too:
