Hello, Iam having a disconnect issue using my Taz 6 and Cura Lulzbot Beta 4.13.11 exp 3.3. Window 10 system
After loading parts and slicing, then starting Job, Printer goes through leveling/touch probing then looses connection. Software Error states “No USB Printer connected” at the top of the Cura app. I reconnect then go thru the same process only for the same thing happening.
Ive successfully run jobs in the last week having more frequent disconnect issue until now.
Wondering if other have seen this issue.
Going to try another version of Cura or different slicer.
The issue was a USB extension cord, Was only two feet long but after removing.
Was still having issues w USB Disconnect with in Cura 4.13 Beta
Latest adjustment was setting with in Cura to use com Port 3 instead of Auto mode
Correct me if I’m wrong but You might have a laptop sleep issue or not using a SD card

Thank you what has been tested most as of latest software in general including anywhere in software including firmware get a stable release unless your a tinker . developer operator or tester
Hold up is the firmware also windows 10 by program design
Hi Tim,
I did update the firmware, on a windows 10 pc. Does this answer your question?
Please restate you question, it unclear to me.
Thanks
Dave
Apologies I meant matching the latest updates on both Microsoft & cura because that’s what I think anyone who can prove me wrong can correct me
Because I am not sure if the latest cura is too recent for windows 10 that’s what I meant
Check to see if the lulzbot connectivity kit is compatible though I am not technical on electrical work
Hi Tim,
You respoce is confusing.
Are you looking to see if its compatible?
Slow down with you writing. Not to rag on you. Iam ADHD and my wrting sucks.
Try writing it then leave it alone, dont send it.
Come back read it to see if it makes sence.
Please take this as a suggestion, not to rag.
Regards
Dave
Hello Dave,
I have a TAZ 6 with a Archim2 board. However, even with the Rambo board, I had many issues with the Cura version using either MacOS or Windows 10.
My solution in to write to an SD card, disconnect the USB connection and printer only from the SD card.
If I didn’t do this, prints would stop or prints would shift (usually in X after the skirt or brim).
Good luck,
This is what I meant by connectivity kit before you updated it I also meant which software versions match up
Hello,
Would Windows 11 help with connectivity?
USB connection issues usually end up being a bad cable or windows putting the COM port into a low-power/standby mode.
Cura is also pretty bad at sending over USB. I run a local instance of Octoprint server on my PC instead of sending from Cura directly for my machines that are connected via USB and haven’t had any issues. Cura sends to Octoprint, and octoprint handles it from there.
I doubt Win11 will be any better. As Wrathernaut indicated, it is buried in the Cura software and likely will not be improved by Win11. Again, if you use an SD card, you don’t need a USB connection unless you preheat the bed and nozzle (as I do to have them at the right temperature for BL Touch).
That’s what I’m wondering
