Why does filament extrude before printing.

After the probing and homing phase, my Taz6 extrudes a small amount of filament as its moving into position to begin the print. Unless I “catch” it with some kind of tool, it messes up the print. Does anyone know why it would do this?

Thanks!

That’s the melted filament oozing out of the nozzle due to gravity.

Try lowering the extrusion temp… 1-3C should help.

Use a skirt or brim to ensure the nozzle is primed properly before printing the actual object. Usually takes the hotend 20-30mm before its primed and ready to print.
