Workhorse print quality

Hello all,
Fairly new to this and first time in this forum. I printed a part last year and I was very pleased with the quality. I tried printing the same part with a few minor changes made in Fusion, but this time I cannot get a good print. I basicly just reduced the size of the print from .5 in to .25 in and the letters are hollow all the way through the piece. The issue I have is with the infil and the final layer. Its like it skips areas of the print and I am left with gaps/crevices in the piece. I am going to try and attach some photos of the good part from a year ago and the new part with the issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have updated the firmware but I wonder if I should do a factory reset on the entire machine.
Thanks in advance

Minor changes aren’t always minor, especially with scaling. You compress gaps, clearance, line width… lots of things. A .5mm thick wall is a single wall, while a .4mm thick wall may be ignored by the slicer completely. Gaps get closed between walls, gaps that needed infill now are below the threshold for infill…

Without comparing the models and sliced output, it’s hard to say why you’re seeing the changes.

Updating the firmware is for the most part, a factory reset. It will almost certainly have changed your Z offset, so first layer quality is going to be questionable until you re-calibrate your Z offset.

Thank you for the feedback, do you know where I can find instructions to recalibrate the z offset?
