Has anyone else purchased one of these from ultimachine? I’m having problems getting my laptop to be able to use it. The rambo worked fine but it seems the bootloader is missing and should have some firmware out of the box which doesnt seem to be the case. I just wanted to see if anyone else was having any issues with this board.
Have you tried to re-flash the board to put the Lulzbot firmware in place of the Ultimachine firmware that they normally come with?
I just made a similar post to this, was wondering if flashing the board would work. I got the icsp to flash the board https://www.amazon.com/TinySine-USBtinyISP-AVR-Programmer-Arduino/dp/B00N8EVQ30/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1537674932&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=icsp+programmer&dpPl=1&dpID=41KOD8dEFGL&ref=plSrch
Also it seems like you need jumpers so I bought a bunch instead of making them myself (lazy)
Here’s the lulzbot documentation I found the confusing part for me is the usbb like do I connect one end into the rambo and the other end into
OK so the usbb running to the board is to supply power to the board
so i ended up flashing my board its very simple
you need an isp tinysine or so on
connect both usbb to your pc
connect one to your isp
connect the isp to the board you can see the configuration in the documentation in the link i posted above.
connect the other usbb to the rambo board
open up lulzbot cura
update firmware per usual
after you can update the firmware through the normal usbb instead of flashing the board.
It didnt have the bootloader so it wasn’t going to work. Ultimachine was helpful in having me return it and sending it back programmed asap. Once the usb bootloader was there then it was easy to install the Lulzbot firmware.
I was going to do that myself but since it should have came with firmware then I was leary of bricking the board as I needed to complete my mini build so due to the crunch it was easier to send it back.
