Help with Taz6 and E3D Titan Aero Tool head

Hello all, I have a new to me Taz6 with the V3 dually extruder. I am trying to upgrade this machine to a E3D Titan Aero hot end.
Before switching the hot end I was successfully able to make a test print, so I know the bed calibration and everything worked.
I have upgraded the firmware to the Marlin_TAZ6_Universal_2.0.9.0.13_80a6628 version. But I can’t seem to figure out what hot end to select on the machine or on cura that will get the nozzle in the correct location.

The current issue is the nozzle will not contact the Z home button. It is about 10mm to the right of the button. I have tried changing the Y offset in cura, but that doesn’t seem to have any affect.
Thanks for any help provided!

Testing out a few things, no matter which tool head I select on the LCD, or driving it from the laptop, it behaves the same when trying to Home Z. The X axis moves to -19 position and then the Z axis starts moving. When homing the X position it is showing -30 when the limit switch closes homing the X.

The titan aero is the same as the aerostruder toolhead use this firmware ( cura/resources/firmware/TAZ6/Marlin_TAZ6_Aerostruder_1.1.9.34_5f9c029d1.hex · main · LulzBot 3D / Cura LE / Cura LE Binary Data · GitLab ) through custom firmware upload and it should work fine thats what I did with mine at least

Tried that, now when trying to home z, the X position is correct but the Y is off. Its bringing the nozzle down behind the bed.

Progress after messing with this thing all day.
Flashed it back to the 1.1.9.34 aerostruder firmware. Then flashed in 2.0.0.174 aerostruder firmware, still had the same issue with it parking the nozzle behind the bed. So I flashed in 2.0.9.013 universal and picked the SE tool head. Now everything works. Guess I wasn’t standing on my head correctly the first time I flashed in the universal firmware.

The original Aerostruder was a different toolhead.

This is the SE 0.50

Hello Tom.

I’m currently running the “original” Aerostruder using 2.0.0.144. I have never had any success with the “Universal” firmware switching from a Dual V2 head to the Aerostruder and back again.

I’d post the firmware here, but the filetypes are not allowed.

I also have the begin/end code that works for me backed up in a Word document.

Let me know if you’d like for me to e-mail these to you.

Thanks,

Todd.

Thanks for all the help everyone. Its working after the second flashing of the Universal 2.0.9 firmware and picking the SE tool head on both the printer and Cura. Now if I can just get it to agree on a constant Z height. Seems like it changes every time I print.
