how to modify FreeCad files

I installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS x64. I installed FreeCAD from ppa:freecad-maintainers/freecad-daily:

OS: Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS
Platform: 64-bit
Version: 0.14.2736 (Git)
Branch: master
Hash: fab311cb00b3bca0928e045f7258e43d7d58d899
Python version: 2.7.3
Qt version: 4.8.1
Coin version: 3.1.3
SoQt version: 1.5.0
OCC version: 6.5.0

I copied what you did in the video:

  • downloaded the v7 part
  • Opened it in FreeCAD
  • Expanded ‘Backplate’
  • right clicked the sketch and selected edit.
  • double clicked the smooth rod constraint, changed to 4.25
  • Clicked OK

but then nothing happened. It did not update like yours did! Is there something else I need to do? my ~/.FreeCAD directory was empty prior to making these steps.

I tried this on windows using the latest 0.14 build and the same thing happened. Are you pressing some magic buttons that I can’t see in the video or are there some settings I’m missing, because I can’t work out why mine is behaving so differently

Discussion has moved over to the FreeCAD forum.
