Lulzbot Taz6 Z Axis Stuck

Was recently printing at work when print failed. I stopped the print now suddenly the extruder won’t move in the z axis was about 1/8" off the bed and makes a loud humming noise. See link

I used the lead screws to move the extruder up which worked fine. Tried using auto home to see if that would work but still get the same sound with no movement.

Any idea what this would be?

Remove the set screws for both Z lead screws, and see if the motors can move when decoupled from the screws.

If there’s still no movement from either, Z stepper driver could have burned out. Best option in that case is to rebuild marlin and reassign the second extruder stepper driver to Z movement and move the stepper wires to that driver. It will now be up to you to make those changes and rebuild marlin if there’s a firmware update that you feel you need to change to.

If both motors do move when decoupled, clean and lube the z lead screws, and ensure that the x axis is level. Put the set screws back in and attempt moving it again.
