New Hot End, Old MAXTEMP Error

Awesome customer service as I just received my new hotend after the old one overheated and got damaged. However, after installing the new Budaschnozzle 2.0 I can’t get anything to heat up in Pronterface. I get the following when I connect:

Connecting...
start
Printer is now online.
echo:Marlin 1.0.0
echo: Last Updated: Dec 3 2014 14:23:20 | Author: (Aleph Objects, Inc, TAZ config)
Compiled: Dec 3 2014
echo: Free Memory: 3114 PlannerBufferBytes: 1296
echo:Hardcoded Default Settings Loaded
Error:0
: Extruder switched off. MAXTEMP triggered !
Error:Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)
echo:SD card ok

I haven’t got this new hotend heated up yet so the “MAXTEMP triggered !” message is false. I assume it is left over from the last nozzle but I can’t seem to get rid of the message and get things going. It also says “Err: MAXTEMP” on the display. Any ideas on how to “Fix the error”?

To anyone with the same problem, I solved it by disconnecting the wires to the extruder and reconnecting them again. I got a MINTEMP error but then it started working with the “TAZ Ready” message.

Make sure that when you plug in/disconnect the hot end from the wiring harness you do so with the printer powered off. Also make sure that the pins on both sides of the connector are fully seated. The MIN TEMP error is always thermistor related, typically from the hot end (like you found).

Yes, I should be more clear. I powered off, disconnected the wiring, powered on, then powered off, connected the wires, then powered on again. And all was good!
