Hello, I really want to use Cura and Ninjaflex on my Taz 4 w my Flexystruder. The Cura profile page, surprisingly enough has no Cura Ninjaflex Profile and the Slic3r ones I don’t think are compatible. Anyone? Lulzbot?
Any chance you will share your Cura profile for Ninjaflex? You are using the Flexistruder yes?
We have a NinjaFlex Cura profile for the TAZ available here: https://www.lulzbot.com/support/taz-cura-profiles
So I need to print out some rubber parts for my new quad design…
I’ve just read through this whole thread, I’m a little confused as to which flexi file to print as there were some links to a belt driven version also?? In the links provided, there are a million different versions with different titles, which file is the most recent? Thanks!
Use the profiles listed on LulzBot.com. They are considered a good stable starting point.
I’m talking about the actual Flexystruder extruder mount itself
I also have a few quesions about building the Flexistruder…

Where to get the correct size PTFE tubing? I see all different kinds availabe on-line, 3mm ID, 3.4mm, 4MMID, which one is the best to use? Do slight differences in ID matter, I imagine they do.

My plan is to build a hot swap flexistruder, I imagine I have make sure I’m using the same hotend as my other hotends, or atleast the same thermistor and resistor so I don’t need to reflash the software each time?..
Gotcha.
Print this model: http://devel.lulzbot.com/TAZ/accessories/flexystruder/flexystruder-1.0/stl_&_g-code/flexystruder-V1.1.stl

McMaster Carr has the PTFE tubing. Not sure how well/cheaply they deliver to your area. Order the one as close to the ID as you’d like, you’re going to drill the flexystruder body out to get a snug fit for the PTFE tube. For the ID I drilled out mine, rather than hoping to find one that matched the spec.

That’s correct! Although, the term Hot Swap strikes fear in me- (for the benefit of new users reading this, ALWAYS power down your printer and unplug from USB prior to (dis)connecting anything on the printer).
Ok, awesome! I guess there is only one, it’s just repeated a bunch of times.

McMaster apparently won’t ship to you if you’re not a business

Cold swap…COLD SWAP!

I get stuff from them all the time… I don’t have a business… just a credit card. ![]()
It’s probably because I’m Canadian, frigg’n yanks
I placed an order,
here is the e-mail I received.
"Hi Jonathan,
Due to the complexity of U.S. export regulations, McMaster-Carr accepts international orders only from businesses. This decision also applies to orders shipping within the United States, because it is based on the final destination of the items. We cannot accept this order or future orders.
Jim"
maybe next time I need something, I’ll keep you in mind. You can order it for me and then just ship it to me. We actually have a similar company here in Canada, it’s called fastenal, they have ALOT of stuff but McMaster seems to have even more.
Well we have to be careful exporting that PTFE tubing, never know what might happen if it got into the wrong hand up there in Canada!
I need to wire my igloo. Sheesh.
well tried my first attempt at printing ninjaflex with a disappointing result…
Printed out the flexstruder body built it up from a cannibalized standard extruder changed the nozzle out for a 0.5 heated up and got started…
Did bed calibration a couple of times and all looked good with a nice even strip all around the bed. got quite excited at that point !!
Started printing out the octopus file using the ninjaflex cura profile after the 3rd layer started getting weird kicking noises from the extruder and the main wheel wasn’t turning anymore so shut it down for examination…
Looks like the filament had bunched up and pushed itself around the hobbed bolt jamming up and splitting my printed flexystruder body, guess the piece of tube I cut from the roll feeder ( the ID was too big but I thought Id try it anyway… ) wasn’t good enough for the job and left too much space around the hobbed bolt… so back to the drawing board
Does anyone know where I can get a short length of the correct size of ptfe tubing in Houston ?
Not too discouraged I was expecting to have to experiment a bit with this

SS
Woo hoo, 1st print completed with ninjaflex !
Printed out the flexstruder with 100% fill built it up with another piece of the guide tube ( its getting a little too short now
) and cannibalized standard extruder and it seems to be working…
Using the ninjaflex config file from website and printed out the rocktopus file @ 20% fill and it completed pretty well, very “furry” surface compared to ABS but its in one piece and definitely very flexible !!
Very glad I used a glue stick on the bed as it was stuck firm, pretty sure I would have destroyed the bed coating without the glue trying to take it off !!
Now im gonna try and print the open RC truggy tyre ( ive nearly printed everything else in that kit ! )
Wish me luck,
SS
Truggy tyre completed @80% fill, tried at 20% but it got messed up in the fill area
Ninjaflex is awesome !

Hello, I´m new to the Forum and got my TAZ printer just 2 days ago and since then it´s running round the clock
I´m very interested in printing with NinjaFlex and so i looked into the Flexistruder.
I printed the Body Flexistruder V1.1 but now i´m not sure if i need any other parts besides the PTFE Tube, or if anything else can be used from the standard extruder. Is there a kind of “shopping list” which parts i need besides the standard extruder and the printed parts ?
thanks
Manuel
Hello Manuel. Hopefully this link is what you are after…

Chris,
thanks chris, thats what i was looking for
Hope i can get all the electronic parts here in Europe somewhere.
Maybe check with Lulzbot to see if they have a drop shipper in Europe as that may really help. I know they use drop shippers but im not to sure how far they extend. Give them a shout.
@moderator, this topic looks dead. Can we remove it as a sticky? It dates the forum.
