Settings for TAZ6 with Polymaker Polylite ASA and 2.85 hexagon head?

I am looking for the settings to use for a TAZ6 using Polymaker Polylite ASA and 2.85 hexagon head.

I have the original 2.85mm hotend and I cannot find an “official” printer profile for this. Can someone tell me the settings they have used successfully? Even some general ideas of where to start with the settings would be good. I might be able to fine tune it from there.

Thanks in advance!

Polymaker uses the same printing speed settings with ABS and ASA, but they run the bed 15 degrees cooler, and the nozzle 5 degrees cooler.

So just copy polymaker ABS and adjust those temperatures.

Great info! Thanks! I will try it that way.

If you don’t like the fumes, you can try Polymaker PC-MAX.

I have had white PC-MAX prints out in the California sun w/ little or no deterioration whereas of course my PLA prints had to be replaced. That stuff is tough and requires only a window open for ventilation while printing. 220-230C makes it go through the TAZ6 (original print head) just fine.

I have a roll of ABS but ended up never using it coz the PC-MAX seems quite tough. Most people overlook using it.

Thank you for the input! I do have the polycarbonate filament that you mentioned. I have used it a little bit. I was looking at ASA as an alternative to the polycarbonate. That is a little bit easier to print, while still having the exceptional physical qualities of the polycarbonate.
