Problems with white PLA vs semi-transparent PLA

I’ve been getting good results on complex parts using a semi-transparent PLA.

But when I started using white PLA I’ve been getting lots of problems: poor bed adhesion, gaps, failure to adhere to itself, and nozzle clogging many hours into the print.

Both filament types are Lulzbot brand. I’ve been using essentially the same settings and nozzle temp of 190C.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

White PLA can need a higher temperature, probably due to the coloring agent used. Try printing at 190-210 starting with the lower cooler temperature first.
